Authentic Cooking Class in Abruzzo: Handmade Mugnaia Pasta & Ferratelle Show Cooking
Learn the secrets of authentic Abruzzese cuisine alongside local women as you prepare the legendary Mugnaia pasta entirely by hand and discover the traditional art of making Ferratelle
Step into the warm atmosphere of Le Presentose in Cucina, where authentic Abruzzese home cooks will welcome you like family and reveal recipes passed down through generations.
Your experience begins with the preparation of Pasta alla Mugnaia, one of Abruzzo’s most iconic handmade pasta traditions. Unlike most fresh pasta, Mugnaia is made entirely without any tools or machines. Guided by expert local women, you’ll learn the ancient technique of transforming simple flour and water into an incredibly long strand of pasta using only your hands.
While preparing the dough, you’ll discover fascinating stories about the flour mills of the Fino Valley, where this traditional recipe was born centuries ago.
Once your pasta is ready, you’ll sit down to enjoy the delicious meal you’ve prepared, perfectly paired with a glass of Abruzzo DOC wine.
The experience continues with an authentic Ferratelle Show Cooking, where you’ll watch the preparation of one of Abruzzo’s most beloved traditional desserts.
Freshly baked Ferratelle are served with the famous local Scrucchiata grape jam and accompanied by Italian coffee, offering the perfect ending to a memorable culinary journey.
Before leaving, you’ll receive the official recipe and a participation certificate so you can recreate these authentic flavors back home.
Whether you’re passionate about Italian cuisine or simply looking for an unforgettable cultural experience, this cooking class offers a genuine taste of Abruzzo’s traditions.
